• Gyrolab Functionality Check

    • How often should I run Gyrolab Functionality Check?
    • We recommend that you perform a Gyrolab Functionality Check regularly to verify instrument performance. For an instrument in regular use, we recommend that you perform a functionality check at least monthly. The frequency of the functionality check can be changed depending on instrument usage and/or local regulations and Standard Operating Procedures. Always perform a Gyrolab Functionality Check if you suspect instrument malfunction.

    • What do you suggest if the first test fails but the second one passes?
    • The kit is designed to be able to run the check two times in one day. This means that you can repeat a failed check and determine if the failure was caused by the operator, handling errors or a malfunctioning instrument. The check includes an Instruction For Use with a troubleshooting guide to detect and fix operator and handling errors before repeating the check. If the repeated check passes this is a verification that the instrument is performing correctly. The first check failure can be ignored if the second check passes. If the repeated check fails then this may be due to an instrument malfunction and Service should be contacted. In a GLP environment, it is acceptable to repeat a failed check providing a troubleshooting procedure is supplied and has been followed, and the user records the actions taken in a logbook.

    • If the first test passes, is that sufficient, or would you do the second test the same day to increase confidence?
    • A passed check is always a verification of excellent instrument performance. You do not need to repeat a test after a passed check.
