• Gyrolab Evaluator

    • Reports contain the name of the user who created the report. Is the displayed name the user ID or the full name of the user?
    • The name displayed is the full name of the user.

    • How is manipulation of date and time by users prevented?
    • Date and time have to be configured by the administrator of Microsoft Windows. Gyrolab xP workstation is delivered with a tool to set time that writes to the audit trail. This tool must be used to get full traceability of actions. For more information, please see Chapter F5 in the User Guide.

    • Date and time are displayed as MMDDYYYY HH:MM plus AM or PM. Can this setting be edited, e.g. to DDMMYYYY HH:MM (24 hours)? How are the settings for date and time configured? Does the software get the information from the BIOS?
    • The information is retrieved from Microsoft Windows and the regional settings may affect the format in which the time and date are shown. Some reports in Gyrolab Software use a fixed time and date format that is not affected by Windows settings. We try to specify the format in the different reports (e.g by printing YYYY-MM-DD… close to the date). Gyrolab Software does not enable any specific editing of date and time formats other than Windows settings.

    • Is it possible to activate/inactivate the audit trails?
    • No, the audit trail is always active.

    • Are the audit trails secured, for example to prevent manipulations by any user including the administrator?
    • The audit trail is stored in Gyrolab database and cannot be changed or deleted by any user or administrator.

    • Will the administrator need one of the four licenses?
    • Yes.

    • Four additional user licenses came with Gyrolab xP workstation. Does this mean that the Gyrolab Evaluator only can be installed on four computers?
    • No, the licenses permit four end-users to use the software independent of the number of computers the software is installed on.

    • Apart from the audit trail in the Evaluator, are there separate audit trails for the different software modules or is there one for all modules? If so, where is the audit trail(s) stored?
    • The audit trail for the Control and Service software is in Gyrolab Database Explorer, which generates a system log for the client activities. You can enter the date span and the generated .xml file can be viewed in Excel. This log shows all activities of the client (logins, setting up runs, etc.).

    • How can a quantification report be secured so that it cannot be replaced by a later quantification report of the same run?
    • It is not possible to lock single quantifications in the Evaluator project. The audit trail will display all changed versions of a given quantification and its version number. Activating the option ‘Require a reason for modifications...’ in the general tab under View>Analysis settings will ensure that all critical changes will also be logged. A project can be locked by approving it. A project can hold one or more runs.
