Any protein can be assayed as long as suitable capture and detection reagents are available. Here, four human cytokines were quantified. The standard curves show high sensitivity over a broad measurement range covering up to four orders of magnitude. To ensure adequate coverage of the concentration range of interest, and to reduce the need for sample dilution, methods can be programed to include different levels of amplification of the fluorescent signal during an assay. |

The results in the table, for quantifying hIL-6 in human tissue culture supernatants, illustrate the good correlation between Gyrolab Bioaffy and other technologies. Reproducibility and reliability are enhanced by very precise definition of volumes within the microstructures and processing all samples in parallel under uniform conditions. |
